Mr Lappin completed his medical degree at Queen's University Belfast before pursuing a career in Trauma and Orthopaedics. He spent a year at Wrightington Hospital, a well-regarded upper limb unit in Lancashire, gaining experience in cutting-edge upper limb surgical techniques. In 2006, he returned to Northern Ireland as Consultant Surgeon at Altnagelvin Hospital, where he served as clinical lead for Trauma & Orthopaedics for almost eight years.
