Zola Mzimba

Zola Mzimba graduated with a degree from Birmingham University in 1990 and subsequently undertook extensive surgical training in the West Midlands. His early career included a year at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto, South Africa, and the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, broadening his clinical experience across diverse healthcare settings.

He is registered on the Specialist Register with both the GMC (3442081) and the Irish Medical Council (401926). In 2006, he settled in Derry~Londonderry as a Consultant Surgeon and has since focused his practice on venous disease and interventions.

Mr Mzimba has developed particular expertise in the treatment of varicose veins under local anaesthetic (Phlebology) and serves as Clinical Co-Chair for the delivery of varicose vein services in Northern Ireland.

He is a Council Member of the Venous Forum at the Royal Society of Medicine, a member of the American Venous and Lymphatic Society, the Society of Vascular Ultrasound, and the Vascular Society of Great Britain & Ireland. He is also a Board Member of the British Association of Sclerotherapists.

With over 20 years of experience treating veins, Mr Mzimba is one of the region’s leading specialists in venous disease.
